Housing Design Matters Website Redesign

Housing Design Matters is a residential design service for builders. The company’s professional staff works with home builders to provide unique floor plans, high-quality working drawings, color selection, design workshops and more. HDM provides top-notch expertise to help home builders be the best that they can be. Recently, Meredith Communications was asked to assist them with updating their website. And we were honored to take on the challenge!  

Housing Design Matters has offices in Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida, as well as Deer Park, Illinois. But HDM’s brilliant designs are found across the United States and feature a variety of price points. Their designs can be found in luxury, multi-family, and entry-level homes, as well in homes designed for residents who are 55 and over. The new site features portfolio links to homes found within each price point to display the various offerings HDM brings to the table. As they say on their website, “We collaborate with builders on their projects to make the process a true pleasure and bring out the best in their communities!”

The HDM team worked closely with Meredith Communications throughout the design process. They knew what they were looking for but also allowed us to do our best work and use our expertise to create a vibrant, appealing site that would help them make a mark in the industry and continue to grow their successful business.

The new site is visually captivating. It features panoramic photography that showcases HDM’s stunning designs. Visitors can browse through HDM’s portfolio to find what appeals to them or make decisions about their own building plans. Easy to navigate, the site includes biographies of HDM’s professional team on its About page, so home builders will know who they will be working with as well as everyone’s qualifications. The Contact Us page has several links on all pages so visitors won’t have to search too hard to contact the company. At the top of the page, prominently displayed, are links to HDM’s social media channels which are regularly updated. 

HDM’s website was built in WordPress, making it easy to update and maintain in-house. A highlight of the site is a blog written by Deryl. Her blog posts are known for being interesting and informative, so it was important for the HDM team to be able to update and showcase them easily. The site has a robust blog platform making it simple to do just that. The blogs are featured at the bottom of the page, but can also be discovered through a link at the top of the page.
