Google AdWords is now Google Ads
October 2, 2018Google AdWords has officially changed to Google Ads. With that change comes new features as well as the loss of some of the old features. Everyone must convert to the new interface if they want to continue to use this marketing tool.
At first glance, the new Google Ads seems to have been designed to help marketers target their audience better than the old interface. New options include the ability to target household incomes and parental status. These are both very aggressive marketing tools.
Audience Targeting
While it is a given that parental targeting is great for those who market back-to-school items or baby products, it is also magnificent for those who sell homes and cars. Think about it. With this type of marketing tool, you can target potential home buyers with growing families or those who wish to downsize when the children leave.
Ad Extensions
Another significant change is the new ad extensions feature. This new feature will allow you to promote a specific inventory home or seasonal promotion on your website without losing valuable space in your ad. Google drastically overhauled the extension area of the interface, and you will need to take a few minutes to get acquainted with the new wording and features. However, once you do this, you will love what is being offered.
Advanced Bidding Options
Advanced bidding options have also been incorporated into the new interface. This feature actually simplifies the bidding process for your ads, especially during peak times. Usually “advanced” features often make things more complicated. These advanced features do exactly the opposite. You will be able to manage your ads more effectively.
Enhanced Reporting
A final change that is worth noting is the changes to the reporting. Google has significantly improved their reporting on the performance of your ads, and you will benefit from this change. You can see more information and base your advertising off of these new graphs and features. If you have been worried about performance on your ads but have not been able to correct the problems with the current data you have, you will love this new feature.
As with any new program, you will need to take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with the new setup. It is worth your effort. Take the time and look at each feature, even those you have used before. Familiarity with the system will make it simple to use, and you will receive more benefits from your ads performance.
